Each fall, we celebrate the people, businesses, and organizations that make Mansfield unique!
The Mansfield Downtown Partnership hosted the first Festival in 2003 as a way to bring residents of the Town of Mansfield and UConn students, faculty, and staff together for a day that celebrates the best of Mansfield including art, music, entertainment, food, games, and activities while promoting the redevelopment of Downtown Storrs. The Partnership's first Festival featured approximately 24 booths and was held in the parking lots behind the existing commercial buildings.
In 2014, the Partnership was pleased to hold the Celebrate Mansfield Festival on the new Betsy Paterson Square. The Festival has continued to grow and in 2017 featured 100 booths, over 200 volunteers, approximately 700 Parade participants, and over 4,000 visitors. Over 140 local businesses and community organizations participated in the celebration!
In 2019, the Partnership has some exciting changes in the works! The 16th Annual Celebrate Mansfield Festival will be Saturday, September 21 and will take place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Downtown Storrs. The new schedule will feature entertainment all day, plus the activity booths that make our event special. Look for more information to be added to this site as planning continues. And, be sure to follow @DowntownStorrs on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for news and announcements!
The Mansfield Downtown Partnership invites Mansfield-located businesses and community organizations to join in the fun by hosting an activity booth or food booth, marching in the Parade, volunteering, or sponsoring the Festival.
